How to add global canonical?

  • I have decided to ‘move/copy’ my current WordPress content to a new domain and would like to add a canonical from the old to the new.
    The post number and the url will be the same AFTER the domain name and different folder names…

    is there a way that a global canonical can be added to inform search engines that the new content is the canonical version….

    should this canonical meta be added to the old and the new domains?
    I know how to add a meta canonical to a ‘normal’ web page just not sure how to do this on a global WordPress site…
