    Hi there, this is bizarre.

I want to create a shipping class that offers free collection.

All l am able to do is create a zone, and add free collection as a shipping method to that.

However, without being part of a shipping class, how would l ever associate it with an inventory item? It has no slug.

And what if l wanted to offer collection locally but express international delivery, all under one shipping class? It’s not possible.

Can anybody help me make sense of this?

    Hi @woowoo101

If you would like to offer Free Shipping on some of your products but charge a Flat Rate for others, the best way to set this up is using Shipping Classes.

Here’s a user case to explain how:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/flat-rate-shipping/#section-4

And what if l wanted to offer collection locally but express international delivery, all under one shipping class?

You can set up Flat rate per Shipping zone to charge are you want for the shipping class you have set up:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/flat-rate-shipping/

    Hope this helps!

Hi there thanks, l decided to just create a flat rate method, and call THAT “Free local collection”, rather than use the actual designated shipping method for local pickup, which itself is weird because it won’t allow you to attach it to a shipping class.

My flat rate solution allows you to attach it to a shipping class.

    Thanks ??
