How to add custom widgets to dashboard for subscribed members

Is there a plugin put there that is up to date that will allow admins to add widgets to the dashboard and allow admins to customise what features are available on the dashboard for user groups e.g. subscriber, contributor. There is the dashboard editor which lacks many features and dashboard widget that us out of date and doesnt do anything.
