• I hope someone can help me…

I would ultimately like to create a custom post type, say a ‘music’ page and then within that specific ‘music’ page I would like to add some custom fields (not the standard drop down ones), I think they are called custom write fields that are just unique to the music page.

So the idea is the user will click on the music page (in the admin) and then there are only specific fields for that page for the user to fill in and then duplicate it for other pages.

I have found tutorials online for custom post types and separate ones for custom write panels (mainly for WP 2.9) but I can seem to find any that covers both and also not been able to find a theme with this is in so I can take a look at how it is done.

Can anyone point me in the right direction (either with examples or tutorials) as I really want to get my hands dirty with this but can’t seem to get past implementing custom post types.

    Many thanks – Jack

I can use custom fields – But I want to specific fields for specific custom post types – And also have each field display ‘as a field’ not a drop-down custom field option.

    Thanks for the reply though.

Do you mean something like this?

It is what I did for a webfolio site.

You can create the fields with this plugin, if you do not want to do a lot of coding by yourself.

You can also add some custom taxonomies to it with this plugin

Eventually you might have a look at the plugin files to see how the code works
