How to add custom input field to category (admin panel)

Hi, I am trying to add simple custom field to wordpress category configuration page, for example simple input area for text, so later I can retrieve this custom field value by category id.

What are the ways to achieve this ? Of course without using third-party plugins ?

I would be grateful for any help.
