How to add content area above blog area on front page?

    I have a very simple site where my blog is displayed on the home page. My problem is that I would like to add a content area above the blog area. More specifically: I want a slide show and then below that the blog. I’m using the WordPress Twenty Ten theme and it does not offer any widget areas besides on the sides and bottom. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Never mind! I figured it out. I added the text I wanted above the content area in the index.php file and now it shows up above the blog area just like I envisioned.
