How to add category descriptions to shop page?

I’ve tried to research this and haven’t found a solution.
I want to add category descriptions to the Shop page of Woocommerce. Currently, the Shop page only displays the Category titles.

but it references changing the content-product.php page, but I don’t have that page in my template files (I’m using Twenty Eleven).Not sure what I’m doing wrong here. Any help is greatly appreciated.
