I’m lost as to how to add a caption to a image.
I’ve tried sending an email with the following:

    #img1 caption=’foo’#
Followed by the picture I’m hoping to have the caption applied to..

Appreciate any help… I just don’t get it… The picture does get posted but the text #img1 caption=’foo’# is included in the text of the post.

Captions only work for “Preferred Text Type” “text” See https://postieplugin.com/faq/managing-image-placement-plain-text-emails/

    I tried the following example….

Here is a sample plain text email.
    #img1 caption=’pretty kitty’#
With an image displayed in the middle of the text.

The image was attached and I sent using plain text email. In the body of the email was the example above

In my post I see “img1 caption-‘pretty kitty’ as the title of the post
The picture is in my post
I see [gallery] when editing the post in Text mode…

I was hoping to see the caption added to the picture when I edit it in the media library.

Is there something else I need to do ?

    Thanks for being patient…

There is a legacy feature you are running into. If the very first character in an email is “#” then it is treated as the subject line. Try adding some other text before the #img
