    Hi,

I would like to show the line “by <author>” below the title in the review overview I use following shortcode to display my reviews on a page: [book-reviews format=excerpt covers=true].
Is there a maybe a shortcode parameter which I can use to display this or do I need to edit php files for this? (I mostly try to avoid the latter…)

    Thanks for your help!

Well, you can create your own template files in the theme to display the books however you want, but what I can do is just wrap the title and the author in a div, so you can set those to display: block; in the css (and/or use a custom CSS plugin like My Custom CSS or the one in Jetpack) and not have to worry about hacking the PHP.

    Hey Jayke —

I did an update to the plugin and forgot about your issue/question. I’ve just finished up a new update that will add an option to the Book Reviews Options page to display the book author on a new line. If displayed on a new line, it’s still wrapped in whatever tag your theme uses for post titles, but it’s got a span class of book-author so, if you wanted to change the size of the “by {author}” you could do it that way. Look for the 1.4.7 update soon.
