    Hello Anders,

First of all, i would like to thank you for building such a great theme. I have been trying to create a text widget with a blockquote having background-color. But it’s not working out. Please help with this query or tell me how have you put the text in the screenshot of theme with background-color. I just want to show random quotes from people in the sidebar.

    Thanking You!

  • This sounds like my query of just a few minutes ago. I would love to be able to add text widgets on the front page display (blog version, not fixed page) with those beautiful blocks that are on the sample page of Baskerville. Thank you!

    Hi Anders,

I have the same problem. What is the difference between Quote content and Quote attribution? And how do I set that the quote is visible on the front page, on a dark background?

If I select Quote content, I get a Quote content box under the draft. But if I type something in this box and click publish, the quote is not published (neither on the front page, not on the blogpost page).

If I select Quote attribution, the Quote content box is replaced by a Quote attribution box, but when I type a quote and click publish, both boxes disappear.

    Many thanks!

    Hi yudhistraverma,

There’s no support for this in Baskerville, but it’s possible that there’s plugins that add quote widgets.

    Sanderling,

The quote content is the quote itself (i.e. “To be or not to be”) and the quote attribution is the name of the person behind the quote (i.e. “William Shakespeare”). The quote will be displayed as long as there’s a quote content string entered.
