How to add Author's name to blog post

  • I have read over a dozen posts regarding this issue and over and over I read it’s theme specific. I’m working with 2011 theme (child) can’t seem to find where exactly to put the code to add an author’s name below the date. I also need to know what code exactly to add.   • When I look at the HTML source code, I can see the author info. The blog post is written by Joanne right? Is it possible that this is not appearing on the site because there’s only one author?

    I just deleted all my authors from a test site and when there’s only one, it doesn’t appear on there.

    Thank you. I think you’re right but is there a way to add the author even if there is only one?
