• Hello,

I’m working on my new portfolio site. For branding purposes, I use “<3” a lot as a sort of “love for code” shorthand reference. I’m curious about whether there’s a way to use the “<” character in a dynamic page URL. for example, I’d kind of like to be able to use a URL like:
    code-junkie.com/wp/<3/portfolio/predictive-intellection/

When I try, WordPress always changes a URL like that to this:

    code-junkie.com/wp/4-3/portfolio/predictive-intellection/

Is there a way to get around this and make it use the carrot character in the URL?

  • I would have to say that this is not a good idea. RFC1738 states:

The characters “<” and “>” are unsafe because they are used as the delimiters around URLs in free text
