How to add an extra textfield in the writing panel?

    Is there a way to add an extra textfield, say, before the “title field” in the “Write Post” panel with filters/actions?

  • What are you trying to achieve? This sounds like something that the Custom Fields section was designed for.

    yes, it can be done in “Custom Fields”, but I want to make a field that appear right on top of the Title field section.
    Is there a way to do that?

    Some plugins add extra text fields in the write post panel as part of their function, so it can be done, but I would just use custom fields.
