You can add JW Player shortcode into a widget, ie:

    [jwplayer file=”something.mp4″ width=”300″ height=”250″]

    Thanks for quick reply.

I did, that, and it looks like the movie (youtube link) gets the target height and width but I get a big nasty black box/border around it which expands all over the place. Please see link:

    Hope you can help out…

Do you have a link? Looks like a CSS issue.

https://ds.bilverdy.dk/ds this is the main frontpage. I wanted to incorporate a mini player on the sidebar.. As you see at the bottom with the youtube clips..

I don’t see the player on the sidebar here?

Try to look again, I just created a text widget in the sidebar with your code and a random youtube video..

If you see above that jw player the other youtube videos are perfecltly aligned..

I would set the primary mode for this player to flash, and I would make the player size smaller.

ok, how does that work in a widget with the above shortcode [jwplayer file=”something.mp4″ width=”300″ height=”250″]

    Plugin Author JW Player

I mean in the plugin settings, under player management, change the primary mode to Flash.

    (@hrohibil)

    I did that.. nothing changed

I see the player here now, but you should also change the size in the settings as well, change it to fixed dimensions.

the player is allreadt set to flash and fixed dimensions if you mean sizes. it is set to fixed sizes(not respsosive)

I see, you have made it 200×100. That is very tiny, I would make it slightly bigger, then you should be fine.
