• Sorry if the question looks quite silly. I’m new to WordPress and I have nearly zero knowledge about coding stuff.

I have a pre-made theme installed for my website which is: ieltsly.com

There are two side-bar sections visible in the appearance menu where I can add widgets (including the custom html box), but I figured out that none of them is the one that I want to add the html 5 (or iframe) code to. There is however a sidebar.php file in the theme’s directory where I could locate the section that I actually need to add my code.

What I actually want to do is remove the tabbed category section (on the top right side below the search box) and replace it with the Facebook like box.

As I mentioned, I know where the code for the tabbed categories is (the section that I want to delete from the theme) in sidebar.php and I was curious what would happen if I simply delete that part altogether and replace it with the HTML5 code (or the ifram one?). I don’t think it’ll be that easy though.

I would appreciate it if anyone here can help me sort this out. Thanks.

UPDATE: I tried deleting the “tabbed-categories” section from sidebar.php and replacing it with the FB like box html5 code or the iframe one but it didn’t work. The tabbed-category section goes away but FB like box doesn’t show up and a blank box appears instead.
