How to add a custom field to an image

  • When I upload an image using ‘Featured Image’ I’d like to be able to add 2 fields to the screen (“photographer” & “photographer-link”).

    I would put the name & link to the Flickr photographer who took the photos, so I could use this data in my theme to provide attribution.

    I can do it now with Custom Fields, or a couple fields I added in my theme to make it even quicker, however, the links are associated with the post, not the image. This is a problem whenever I reuse a photo. The link & name are not associated with the image.
    I thought about adding the name/link to the caption & description field, but I figure WP would allow me to add 2 more fields.

    In reading about images, it seems like the image screen is very similar to the posts screen, which makes me feel like I could add 2 extra fields.

    Any ideas, or places to look?
