How to add a blog page to my current website

  • I am new to WordPress and creating websites, I do not know much besides editing the text in my pages and a few other things that was shown to me. I was recently told that adding a Blog to my current site would be good for business and SEO. I need help on how to do this please. Is there a step by step guide for this at all? I am currently using WP3.5 and my Theme is Custom Community. My website is https://www.weclean.co.za I know how to add a new page etc, but I do not know how to add a blog page without messing up the current look of the website. Please respond in easy to understand terms… Thanks for any help that comes my way.

  • Create a new blank page titled ‘Blog’, then set ‘Blog’ as the ‘Posts page:’ in Settings > Reading under ‘Front page displays’.

    Hi there. I have tried this, It then changes my whole site to a blog! Unless I am still doing something wrong?

    Okay I got it working finally… however why has the sliding header dissapeared? How can I get it back there? when I create a post, it appears in the blog page, BUT for some reason the sliding header is messed up on all my other pages.

    Hi songdogtech. I am not sure how this is a paid for theme. The guy who created it says he never spent a cent besides his time. I will however look for support there. Thanks.

    Still no luck with adding a blog page. I was under the impression WordPress was so easy to use even for beginners.

    When I try to do something about a blog page I end up messing up the whole website! The slider images disappear too. Really frustrating..

    Can anyone help?? All I want to do is create a blog page here https://www.weclean.co.za then post news etc and tips, but the page itself needs to still have the same slideshow
