Hello, So I got the API approved with USPS within a few days which was great. But now that I have it I don’t know where to find support on how it actually works with shipping on woocommerce. I am new to woocommerce and setting up shipping so I am trying to make the link between Classes, Settings and then these other plugins. For Example i have weight based shipping also. Once I setup the settings on USPS Live rates to show for example USPS Priority mail. I then go to shipping zone and add it to a zone. I now don’t know how it shows on customer facing page on checkout? I looked on Octolize youtube page and webiste and couldn’t find anything helpful that actually goes beyond here is plugin download it and check this one box. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone has a link to a video or docs that actually goes from beginning to end on a real scenario I would appreciate it alot. Thanks.

    Hi @meganoosh,

Thanks for reaching out and congrats on starting your journey with Woo. Indeed, your configuration has all the necessary elements already.

In general, our free plugin you’re using calculates the USPS rate based on the order’s weight and destination. If you already added the USPS shipping method to your shipping zone, then your customer will see the rates at the checkout. You can test it yourself, by going to your checkout page with a test order. To see additional details about USPS rates, please turn on the Debug Mode.

If you’d like to limit the USPS shipping services visible to your clients, then please consider using the checkboxes in the Services section.

After completing these steps, please verify if the issue has been resolved.

    Kind regards,

    Piotrek

    Hi Piotrek,

I have done all of the above and also tried Debug Mode which provided no errors. I had weight based shipping which I disabled under Shipping zone, but didn’t help. I am curious how USPS reads the weight of a product and then provide cost? I have already updated my products to 1 ib so besides that what else could I be missing?

Does the USPS offer an option to login on their side to make any changes to the API? Whats strange is that this past few days I actually had the weight based shipping working while I learned how USPS Live rates worked. And today when we tried, it didn’t work anymore. It will only calculate 1 bag of coffee Shipping rate and for any more than that it says no shipping cost available to assign to the cart. This is the website. Hi Megan,

Our plugin uses the official USPS API to send the order details (including weight) to USPS servers and receives shipping rates that are displayed at the checkout. We don’t offer features to manipulate the API details. We only offer the adjustments present in the method configuration.

The issue might be related to a theme you are currently using in your store. To check if there is no conflict, please temporarily install and enable Storefront the official WooCommerce theme, and see if the problem persists.

Alternatively,?the issue may be related to some other plugin used in the shop.?

Please disable plugins which are not ours or the WooCommerce itself.?Then please enable plugins one by one,?deleting cache, and check if the issue still occurs.

In order not to influence potential customers with your actions,?you can use the so-called staging. This is a secure 1:1 copy of the site, intended for testing and invisible to customers. Many web hosts provide this feature. If your web host does not offer this, then you can use the free WP Staging plugin.

After checking the above, please?let me know about the outcome.

I am using DIVI Cart Pro theme for the page and then within the page I have the Short Code imbedded in the page [woocommerce_cart] for example. Same thing repeated for the checkout page except with [woocommerce_Checkout].

When USPS Live Rates is configured and has the API. Is it looking for Woocommerce theme Page and then the [woocommerce_cart] for example? If so, then I wonder if this is why its not reaching the cart automatically. Eventhough I have it added to the shipping zone after completing the other configurations from the directions given. My products currently only have weights added. I didn’t add product dimension measurements.

Am curious if you have clients who have used your API plugin with DIVI Cart Pro successfully? Thank you again for all your help.

    Thank you. Will do.

I have had nothing but trouble with the USPS live rate plug in. I’ve given admin privileges but this has dragged on for a month.

It doesn’t work for International first class. Can’t print postage for any first class postage.

    Dear @pattylyons,

We sincerely apologize for what you’re experiencing with our USPS plugin. It’s not our intention to cause such issues.

Please mind that this topic was about Divi theme compatibility. However, in your case, the issue started with another USPS plugin that’s being phased out, and you were looking for a Live Rate plugin, like ours, as a replacement.

As requested, your case is now directly managed by our Product Owner, who’s in the loop with our developers. They proposed extending the validity of your subscription for free, and addressing the International First Class difficulties as quickly as possible.

Regarding the label generation. We understand that this functionality is critical to you. Please keep in mind that there are many factors that influence the decision to implement it. Our team is responsible for evaluating market needs, technical requirements, WordPress/Woo standards, and compatibility with other plugins.

As a result, we are unable to say when this feature will be implemented. Nonetheless, we assure you that we shall notify you as soon as it is published.

If we may ask, let’s continue our direct email correspondence.

    Kind regards,

    Octolize Team

Since I’m not getting any help and there’s been finger pointing in all directions, AND I made you an admin and still nothing AND it took me 14 emails to “prove” to you the problem, before you bothered to admit it wasn’t working, I was googling around to see if anyone else had issues.

They do. Please fix your plug in
