    Hello All!
    I am very new to wordpress and have encountered a problem that does not let me log into any part of my website.
    I use wordpress online and have never downloaded it to my computer.
    I spoke to my hosting about the problem I was receiving and they said that I have to change my password in my database through phpMyAdmin. This is straight forward enough however i am encountering problems when it comes to accessing my wp-config.php file.
    As I have never downloaded wordpress I do not know how to access the wp-config.php file, anyone know how I would go about this?

    Kindest Regards!

    I went from web hosting > manage > subtle.fm – manage > under the files section hit file manager > then clicked wp-config.php and it opened in text edit

    this is my DB_HOST

    /** MySQL hostname */
    define(‘DB_HOST’, ‘mysql4.clusterdb.net’);

    There are good instructions concerning your 123-reg database on this page on their site – which also tells you where to find what you need to put in.

    The database hostname indicates the physical location of your database. You will need your database hostname in order to install software such as WordPress or Joomla for the purposes of adding features to your website such as blogs, forums and content management systems.

    The hostnames are to connect to your databases on your 123-reg hosting package.

    MYSQL: cust-mysql-123-01

    New Customers from 13/09/2010 will need to use the following:

    MYSQL: cust-mysql-123-02 or cust-mysql-123-03 or cust-mysql-123-04 or cust-mysql-123-05

    [MSSQL: atlas-sql-07] – ignore this

    The database name is the name displayed when you click on the Manage databases option in your Web Tools menu via your 123-reg control panel.

    The username is the database username that was provided on screen when you first created the database.

    The password is the database password that was provided on screen when you first created the database unless you have since reset it via your 123-reg control panel.

    Okay.. if you think that everything is fine in the wp-config, then upload it to replace the one which is there. You should be able to use the same path you used to get it.

    does my host name look okay.

    I cannot seem to make my way to the web tools menu on control panel.

    Should I try with my password change and if that doesn’t do the job, change the host name to local host?

    do the password change first

    btw.. Take your time doing this… I’m in no rush ??

    In fact, I’m getting a coffee now ??

    If you still have an error then change to the host to “cust-mysql-123-02”. as it says in the quote.
    It may not be that one, as there are 4 of them.

    Try one and if it doesn’t work, then try the next one.

    Thank you ??

    I am trying to upload file, going through the process of clicking upload > selecting file clicking upload > letting it upload

    when i click close its the old file

    Then delete the old file first, then upload the new one.
    You may have to do this for each try until we get the correct host server

    You seem to have a window on your site which you can enter the info in – https://subtle.fm/wp-admin/setup-config.php

    again still not uploading even with removal

    use the link because the WP installation knows that there is no wp-config file

    You can log out of your host to do this
