How thumbnails are regenerated?

    Hello,
    I’m already using Shortpixel image optimizer and bought some credits.
    I optimized image and now I added some new sizes to the theme.
    My question is – are thumbnails generated based on original image (from Shortpixel image backup folder) or are the thumbnails generated from an already optimized and compressed image?
    I’m asking this, because I want to have best possible quality for my thumbnails.
