How switch home page from index.php to news.php?

  • The directory in which I’ve installed WP already has an index page, which I need to keep.

    So, I’d like to have the main WP page be named “news.php” instead of “index.php”.

    Not seeing how to make that change.

    Suggestions?

  • I may actually have found a way to do this (involving the use of mod_rewrite), but it’s messy.

    May I suggest instead that you create a custom WordPress page template that contains the code of your current index.php, and set that as the front page of your blog under Reading Settings?
