How Sort the Gallery Media View NOT the Gallery Page Display View?

  • I have a Gallery with many images and it will continue to grow. When I add new images they show up in the Media dialog view in the order in which they were added. This makes it very hard to locate a specific image in order to edit its information. Is there a way to SORT the index alphabetically?

    NOTE: I am NOT talking about specifying how to display (sort) the thumbnails in the displayed gallery on a post or a page.
