How revision works under the hood?

It just saves a copy of the revision in the database.

I just noticed all the revisions were automatically deleted in my posts in WP-Optimize. I did not enable the automatic optimization nor scheduled clean-up. I have always wanted to delete these revisions independently per post. That’s why I use revision control.

Can you tell me if it was because of exceeding size on my site or something else. It’s the 2nd thing I’ve noticed of weird deletions on my site and wonder if there’s a possibility of hacking.
