How retain color palette of base theme in child theme?

Hi:

When I make a child theme and export it I lose all the colors from the base theme. I want both base-theme colors AND my custom colors. Do I need to add all the base colors to the custom palette before exporting the block theme? (I use Create Block Theme plugin. I use Greenshift theme as the base theme and then build child themes.)
