how remove white either side of pic in a div?

    I have a pic in a div and cannot see how to remove the white space at either side of the pic!

    The code I am using is

    <div id=”test” style=”width: 300px;margin: auto;”>

    </div>

    Help!

    Cannot see if I can upload a pic of this?
