    Hello,
In the old version of Yoast, there was a button to disable the word “category” in URLs but in the new version of Yoast, I can’t find it.

I need to remove “category” without breaking the links.

    Best Regards

    Hello @mengeco

Thanks for using Yoast SEO. You can find the setting in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Categories & tags > Categories.

So, it seems other plugins or your theme is adding taxonomies that have the same name as categories. Check each categories tab and confirm the one that’s for the default WordPress posts. See my screenshot of what it should look like.

Ok thanks !!! I found it but if I disable “category”, my page is in 404. I should have defined this parameter when creating the site.

I installed the plugin “No Category Base (WPML)” and it works but it is still a new plugin for a small feature.
