How often will dynamic content be updated?

1)How often will dynamic content will be updated?
Let’s say i have relat posts which update every new posts in the sidebar, how often will they get updated once i publish a new post, I mean when i publish or edit, will all the posts cache be cleared? or just the one which got posted/updated?
2) edits will clear the cache as well?
