• Hi, I would like to know how often the sitemap updates automatically, this is what I see in the sitemap that is in the search console:

    View post on imgur.com

But, it has not been updated for more than 4 hours, and there are articles that have already been created in that period of time.

Do I have a problem or usually how often do I update?

  • Hi, the nes sitemap is dynamic which means it is (re)created on the fly at each request. If you are seeing an old version, there must be some kind of caching going on on your web server.

You could check the response headers to find out more…

Or try visiting your sitemap like this: /sitemap-news.xml?randomstuffhere
to bypass any cached version. If that shows all your latest posts, then you’ll need to find out what/where your news sitemap is cached. And then exclude it from that cache.

Hello, the site map is updated, but it takes a long time, for example I just saw the site map that is in Search Console and the last article you have was published 6 hours ago, 9 articles have been published after this but they are not even on the site map. This takes time to update, is it normal or should I check what you tell me?

Hi again, there might be some caching mechanism on your server or WordPress installation. You’ll need to check if your sitemap is cached and if/how to prevent that.

Or are you talking about Google not revisiting your sitemap for so long? This cannot be helped. There is no way to force the search giant to move in the direction of your site whatever you do. You can only continue building your site and hope the giant starts finding your site interesting enough to visit more often.
