How not to show excerpt for certain category of posts

I have created a category called ‘Test’, which has online quizzes. The online quizzes are added to the posts under test category by using quiz plugin short codes. But when I am clicking on test category it is listing the posts, but fetching the excerpt from my biographical info in the user profile.
Can I add some code to function.php so that I can omit the excerpt and have only the link to the page. or limit the number of character in the excerpt for the posts in ‘Test’ category ?
