    Hi,

Nice theme! It’s simple and clean.

I am guessing, due to the name of this theme that I can change quite a lot of the layout with some ease. Am I right in thinking this?

    Can I for example:
-show the menu directly on the right hand side of the header without having to click on anything. (in computer view I mean, the three lines symbolising the menu is great for tablet and mobile view)
-have 3 columns of thumbnails instead of two?
-have a featured article which would take up the width of the screen above the columns of thumbnails?
-delete the repeat title and tagline on the home page?
-change the colour of background of the header?

If I can do all or most of these things in theory then I can start work on the website with this theme and maybe I could come to you for help if I get stuck as to how to do any of them?

    Thanks

Ciao @rosiemalachi, sorry for the late reply!

For first I chose “Modul R” because my intent was to create a theme with a kit of easily reusable functions (especially with a child theme).
For example I created the “modul_r_social_sharer” function that prints the share button. If you create new page template it will be very useful because it avoids write a lot of code and, at the same time, you can filter the function to change all the occurrences in which it is called. So Modul r it’s related to the way it was build, not to the design! But I have recently made many changes to make the theme more editable with the customizer and without write code! But remember it’s a starter theme and it needs your hack, if I put too many settings and conditions it won’t be as fast as it is now!

About the menu, at the moment it’s possibile with a little of coding, i’ve prepared a many sass variables that really change many aspects of the theme, menu alignment and menu background included! Check the Modul R website for more info, “Environment Setup” page. I know, it is a reckless choice, but I want the style to be recompiled because all these variants would have a lot of zombie code, and many conditionals slow down performance.

Same speech for thumbnails or the featured article, these things cannot be edited with the customizer (at least at the moment) but only with sass code editing. Sorry! But also, stiky post are already configured in the sass code and need only a very little of intervention to do what you would ask.

At the moment the homepage headings can be changed by modifying the translations, all the texts are translation ready.

And thanks for all the advices, in the future I promise you that I will make it more customizable, keeping in mind your requests!

    Hello @rosiemalachi,

i’ve update the template and now with the customizer you can change the layout of some section of the website as you ask. For example you can choose the header direction or change the headline on the homepage.

I hope the changes are appreciated, I’ll gonna close this ticket but if I need it, don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Erik
