    Hello,

On the updraftplus blog it is indicated that it is free for use on up to 5 websites.
But there’s no mention of this in the premium features section in your plugin description.

I would like to know if it’s free on unlimited number of websites like Clef was ?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Thanks for asking and for your interest!

But there’s no mention of this in the premium features section in your plugin description.

That’s because it’s a restriction that’s relevant to the app that you’ll use on your phone/tablet, rather than of the plugin itself. You can install the free version of the plugin on as many websites as you like. But how many websites you can link to a particular app install depends on whether you’re on a free or paid tier.

We don’t want to end up like Clef and just close shop one day because of it not being sustainable; we are seeking to build something that’ll be around for the long term. As such, it does mean that it’s not built for everything being free to an unlimited level, because that’s not sustainable.

    Best wishes,
    David

    Thanks for your answer.
I understand your point but I think that only 5 sites for free is too small.
I have found another solution which seems to be a good clef alternative for me.

I really hope you good success with your new plugin.
    Best wishes

I get the need to monetize, but this means that users have to pay rather than site owners if we use this authentication.

I have one client with 12 employees and 7 websites. Each of these 12 employees will have to buy a premium app access rather than the employer paying for the plugin base on the number of users.

This is problematic enough, but if they were members of the site rather than employees, it would be impossible to manage. The payment needs to be on the site owner end of it, not on the user end. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this solution to my clients.

    Hi again @danemorgan

I’d like to clarify this as it may not have been clear on the site. A site owner can buy a premium license and that will allow the site users (or employees) to connect to the site without any purchases.

So to clarify each app user gets 5 free sites and unlimited premium sites (as long as the premium site itself has available slots).

Ahhh. So if the site owner has a premium account and the employee signs into it, that does not count against their five free site slots?

@danemorgan, yes thats correct. Each app user gets 5 free sites over and above any sites that have Keyy premium with available slots.

Wait… so let say I’m a user… NOT employee or Site owner… and I happen to either subscribe or use 5 sites using keyy free plugin.

And let say I found 6th site I wanted to subscribe/be member of.. and that one happens to use free keyy plugin as well.

So in this case, I, user and NOT employees or Site Owner, are NOT allowed to add that site & link to my app?

I’m with Danemorgan that app for the user cannot have any limits since user has NO control over whether site owner is using free plugin or not???

    Hi there @bulewold

Hope all is well with you. Thanks for the feedback, I’ll share this feedback with the team

So in this case, I, user and NOT employees or Site Owner, are NOT allowed to add that site & link to my app?

Yes what you say is correct. Here ideally the site owner would upgrade their Keyy license to allow for you to connect.

As per our present pricing model, A site owner should ideally have slots for all users of their site to connect with Keyy.

Apart from this, each Keyy user also has 5 bonus slots to use on any Keyy enabled site even if the site owner does not cover this with their license.

If the app user wants more than this, then they can buy a premium license which should in effect lift this restriction, meaning they can connect to Keyy irrespective of wether or not a site owner has available slots.

Hope this clarifies for anyone reading.

Follow up question. so Ultimate keyy cost $99 and it’s for 100 max sites registered. (looking at https://getkeyy.com/)

    1. Is $99 one time fee or is that annual???

    2. If one time fee, does it include plugin updates for lifetime?

    3. Does this mean you can install to 100 websites with unlimited user per site, right? Or is premium license must be paid per WP site?

    Thank you.

The 99$ is an annual license cost. We don’t have a lifetime updates included version yet, but that may change in the future.

Also yes for 99$ you can install it on any number of sites with unlimited users.

    Ok, that helps.

So it sounds like you guys are not restricting how many websites we can use this at? It’s about how many sites we can register within getkeyy.com account?

So if I get PLUS plan.,.. I can have 100 sites with 50 users each… and it won’t cause issue as long as I or no one else try to log into 35 different sites with keyy, is that correct understanding?

    Thanks @bulewold.

So it sounds like you guys are not restricting how many websites we can use this at? It’s about how many sites we can register within getkeyy.com account?

Yup, its based on many sites you can add with a single getkeyy.com account OR the number of Keyy connected users a site can have.

So if I get PLUS plan.,.. I can have 100 sites with 50 users each… and it won’t cause issue as long as I or no one else try to log into 35 different sites with keyy, is that correct understanding?

To clarify, you can have 100 sites with 50 users each, irrespective of wether or not the users have reached their 5 sites free limit. Additionally YOU can connect to 35 different sites on your account. The 35 sites enhanced limit only applies to you and not to all users of the 100 sites.

    Understood, thank you.
