How many sites will you use on? TRICK QUESTION

    If local purchasing seo
    ? Up to 50 Sites – $ 499
    ? Up to 100 Sites – $ 799
    ? Up to 200 Sites – $ 1499

The shelf life is one year, counting from the date of purchase. NO activation date. This for me is a disguised scam. I happened to me. I expect a reply from Yoast.

  • No really a scam. A multi-site license for most software is from the date the license is purchased, not from each use — meaning, they are not going to manage expiration dates for 50 different sites. The presumption is that you are already managing up to 50 sites where you wish to use the plugin, not build 50 sites over the next 5 years and then you have licenses that “start” at each site debut; that’s not how multi-seat licensing works with software, and never has.

Also this forum is generally for technical support, not purchase support so you are better advised to use the direct ticket support system on Yoast’s website vs a complaint here which has nothing to do with how the plugin actually works.

Helps to read the licensing terms prior to purchase, as with all software. But this is how software licensing has always worked. Welcome to webdev!

According ‘Neotrope’, according to you is not a scam.
Now notice BUYERS Local Yoast Seo:
    This is the proposed purchase:
    ? Single Site – $ 69
    ? Up to 5 Sites – $ 129
    ? Up to 20 Sites – $ 249
    ? Up to 50 Sites – $ 499
    ? Up to 100 Sites – $ 799
    ? Up to 200 Sites – $ 1499
If you buy $ 1499 for the pluguin 200 sites, you have to activate them immediately. The license is for one year from the purchase, not after the activation of pluguin. Ie if you do not use 50 pluguin within the first year you lose.
On the other hand ‘Neotrope’ I have read the information. It is not clear.
I like Yoast Seo, you are installed on all my websites. I do not like feeling ripped off.

Correct, the one year license is from the date you purchase the license, not the date you start using the software.

If you buy 100 licenses on May 1, 2016; then you renew that “license pack” on May 1, 2017, whether you use “all 100 licenses” or not, and no matter when each use was started. That is the trade off in getting a discount. Obviously only YOU would know how many licenses you actually need. Why buy 100 site license if you only plan to use 50?

If you need a “license” to start the day you start using it, wait until you need it then buy the single license for that site, which will start THAT DAY, and renew one year later.

I don’t work for Yoast, but this is how this kind of licensing has always worked, and is fairly well explained on their site.

But again, you should contact them directly as this forum is for technical help in USING the plugin, so no guarantee anybody from Yoast can help you by posting here. This is not a forum run by Yoast.

    Perfect
Now everything is clear. You’ve explained it very well.
But that information must appear in a clear and easy way to find. OK?
