How many sites can we create at WP MS

  • Hi!
    Do you know how many sites (the limit) can we host in the same wordpress plattform? Is there some thecnical document about it?

    We have more tham 150 (not all of them are active), but lately we have realised that wordpress works very slow and sometimes it crashes.

    I can say we have a dedicated server, 1 CPU, 1GB ram….

    As many as your server can handle. Or as many as your can have DB tables for. At 150, that’s not super large, but it would be time to review your server config and do some optimization.

    Do you think it is necessary to use plugin cache? It would improve server perfomance.

    WordPress core doesn’t have one, do it?

    WordPress core doesn’t have caching because it kind of can’t. Caching is hugely dependent on what your specific server setup is.

    I use caching on my bigger sites.

    W3 Total Cache.

    WP Super Cache also works great.
