Depends on the blog. I’m using wordpress all over the damn place now. I run exactly what’s needed, never extra fluff. Some blogs have just a couple, some many more, with the max around 15.

Seriously, I’ll probably pull out some later as “fluff”, but most of my plugins are navigation and statistics plugins, with Akismet being my anti-spam plugin, and Miniposts being a “format manager” of a sorts I guess – for some posts.

The maximum number of plugins I use in any of my wordpress installs is approximately 15. I thought my meaning was clear, but if it wasn’t, it should be now.
