How many more “Classic” plugins will I have to install to disable this cancer?
-
I’ve now had to install the Classic Widgets plugin because hitting my widgets page on a custom themed site brought my entire dedicated server down! Yikes. Suddenly the domain I was editing spiked up to 1500% CPU usage and the whole thing died after finding the horrid block editor had been “updated” to work in the widgets page. WHY!?!?!! After killing the process and installing classic widgets, no spike. Maybe it’s something not playing right in the custom theme’s code, but good hell. That’s not acceptable.
Performance problem aside, Guttenberg blows chunks. It is awful, clunky, unintuitive and counter productive. WordPress broke something in their attempt to fix something that didn’t need fixing.
This is in addition to Classic Plugins, or whatever the other one I had to install to disable the block editor in composing content.
How many more “Classic” plugins will I have to install to disable the cancer that is Guttenberg?
