    Hello,

I checked this page at https://rankmath.com/kb/keyword-research-with-rank-math/#:~:text=Rank%20Math%20allows%20you%20to,PRO%20version%20of%20Rank%20Math.

Rank Math allows you to select up to 5 focus keywords per post. This means you can optimize your post for 5 different keywords and attract a lot more traffic as compared to what you were optimizing for 1 focus keyword. This option is available in both the free and the PRO version of Rank Math. If you try to add more focus keywords, Rank Math would rather discard them. But, this limit is removed in Rank Math PRO allowing you to add unlimited focus keywords.

Rank Math PRO allowing you to add unlimited focus keywords?

But when I tried to add around two hundreds keywords, it will show ” number of tags exceeded”, and please check the screenshot https://prnt.sc/OgxnAVcQ91cl

did I mis understand anything please?

    Thanks

    Hello @alexliii,

    Thank you for contacting support.

You can use the following filter to increase the number of allowed focus keywords on your website: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#unlimited-keywords

However, please note that we do not recommend going much over the original 5 focus keywords as that won’t give you any additional benefit since it’s very difficult to optimize your page for more than those and that’s the sole purpose of the focus keyword.

Hope this helps clarify your doubts.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello @alexliii

Keywords are primarily used to satisfy the SEO scores:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/

But please stay advised that these tests are just guidelines and one does not need to follow them religiously.

At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines.

Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.

    Hello,

Thanks for reply and great article.

I read a lot before upon SEO, and confused for long time.

For now, I am getting more and more clear upon how keywords working here, but still not so sure the relationship among these three points: Keywords in Rankmath, keywords in google trends, and ranking performance on search engine.

I believe, for most of people are confused by the relationship among Keywords input in rankmath, keywords from google trends, and we just suppose that article will get high ranking if we use the popular keywords from google trends.

So, it would be great if I can have your professional SEO tutor’comment upon my thoughts below, and please correct me if I am wrong, and thanks in advance:

1# Sores is the result of SEO optimization by rankmath when we are working, and it is comprehensive result including meta, keywords, content, description and all of aspects.

2#Keywords input in rankmath is a way of measuring the article content performance, right? But keywords here are directly related to ranking on search engine, right?

3# if the keywords in article content are popular in google trends, it would be helpful for the article to get high ranking, right?

Thanks again, and looking forward your reply.

    Hello @alexliii,

i). The SEO Score shows you how optimized your content is for your main focus keyword. The score is generated by running tests on your content that is based on best SEO practices.
    https://rankmath.com/kb/seo-score-vs-content-ai-score/

ii). The focus keyword doesn’t measure your article’s performance and it has nothing to do with ranking in SERPs. The keywords only help you to enhance your on-page SEO.

iii). It will increase the chances of ranking high if your content is optimized for a trending keyword. Please note that ranking on Google depends on so much more than just your on-page optimization. You could have the perfect article and still struggle to break the top 10 in SERPs. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority
    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.
    3. How competitive the keyword is.
    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.
    5. Your website’s crawlability.
    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.
    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean ?? https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

We would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything.`

    Hello @alexliii,

We tested on our end and the filter seems to be working properly for products as well. Here’s a screencast for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/FcQCdm

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Please let us know how that goes.
