• Hello

We are adding a bunch of users, but should not include the email for policy reasons.
How can we change the email user filed so it is not mandatory when creating/editing a user?

    Thanks!

  • just give them arbitrary emails. since emails aren’t important for your setup it shouldn’t matter if they’re gibberish.

Define “gibberish”. If those email addresses happen to exist, you would be passing login details out to random strangers.

So you have your own site right, let say the name of your site is “mysite.com” well since you control the email addresses associated w/ “mysite.com” you should be able to just randomly create an email address that you’d never actually create on your server so something like [email protected] would never be an actual email address.

So not random gibberish or arbitrary emails addresses? Ideally, it would be better if you set up real throwaway addresses.

I agree. But the concept in it’s rawest form is just to assign email addresses associated to your own website, that will never be used to each user :).

    Thanks for the feedbacks.
Right now we give them arbitrary emails. It would be just “cleaner” not to put any address.
