How long until I can register my domain name again after cancellation?

You can transfer your domain all you have to do is contact wordpress.com and ask for your EPP Key once you have obtained this go to the link below and follow the instructions.

Note: You will have to wait 60 days till you can transfer it

The domain is already cancelled. I don’t want to transfer it, as I don’t even own it. I just want to register it again, but it’s somewhere out there in cyberspace and I can’t get it back.

If you want to register it again you will have to wait another year. Unless you can contact wordpress.com support and see what they can do.

I was just wondering if anything came out of this? Did you have to wait another year? I did the exact same thing before realizing godaddy was cheaper! Now I cant retrieve my name. It’s sooo annoying. Literally cancelled it within 20 mins of buying it. Do they have any customer care number to call?

How does one contact wordpress support?

If you have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG software installation then you’ve already contacted WordPress support. These volunteer support forums staffed by people like you is the support model.

If you mean WordPress.COM which is not this place then try asking at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/ instead. No one here has anything to do with domain registrations and we’re not .COM.
