How Long to Update an Edited Redirect?

  • Hi there,

    The above page on my clients site redirects to a page on Eventbrite. The event is repeated 4 times a year and I’ve just updated the redirected url (as a 301). However, the above link still forwards to the old Eventbrite page and not the new page link that I’ve updated.

    Should the edit happen instantly?

    If not, how long can it take to update?

  • Hi @stevebimpson,

    Sorry for the delay in someone replying here. In most normal situations the update should happen almost immediately however there may be some cache layers to clear through before it updates.

    Did it every update after a short time for you or were you stuck with a link you were unable to redirect correctly?
