• Hi guys,

Hope you are doing great so far. I see that a lot of work is being done on Gutenberg and I appreciate it.

However, it’s impossible to say that the new block interface have the same performance of the ClassicEditor. Test on a older machina (intel n2320 with 4GB ram for example) and you will notice that the gutenberg Editor lags a LOT.

With that said, I see that there is a Classic Block. Will this block be supported in the future as well? I really think you guys should keep it forever so we can write large posts without lag.

    Thank you!

I am sorry to hear that, if you are experiencing a bug with the Gutenberg plugin I would suggest adding your experience to the GitHub repository below.

With the changes constantly happening on the WEB it is hard to say something will be supported forever. New technologies are introduced frequently forcing most software to adapt or risk becoming obsolete.
However, the classic block is being supported and there isn’t a plan to phase it out at the moment.

    Hi @aquasp!

You can also install a plugin called “Classic Editor” which allows you to continue using the old editor and disable the block editor altogether if you are having performance issues:

    I hope that helps!
