How long for trackback/pingbacks?

  • How long does it generally take for a trackback and/or a pingback to show up in your admin dashboard?

    I am working on layout for a new theme on a new blog. I have several test posts and pages and linked one of them to another test blog of mine and after 10 minutes it still hasn’t shown up in the admin dashboard. Do I simply need to wait longer?

    Also, what happens once an article is tracked/pinged and the originating article is deleted? Does your pingback disappear from the dashboard/comment list? Or are you simply presented with a broken url?

    Ok I’ve been waiting for like 4 hours now and no trackback or pingback notifications…… am I missing something? Both websites (test sites) are 2.8.4

    Ok I upgraded to 2.8.5 for both of my test sites and still never got any notifications. Can someone help me? Thanks.

    Have tried googling to see how long I should expect pingbacks to show up so I can test the way they look – and all I can find it this page!
