How it’s better to skip WP Media?
-
Hello,
I want to create a very huge data DB based on WP, but with data stored at custom DB tables (via Pods/MetaBox/JetEngine/etc – so big data will NOT make a garbage at trash-like WP DB tables wp_posts & wp_postmeta) also with tons of images (>10’000). For example like phonearena.com etc. Thus I don’t see any reason to annoying ordeals with each image uploading to [WP Media Gallery], set theirs names, etc. I want just to upload all needed images as files to special folder and then show them at frontend (via Gutenberg or MB Views etc). Such method have many advantages: + much faster, no need to waste time with each file uploading; + much easy to update images just by uploading a new file instead of previous; + no garbage adding for each image to trash-like wp_posts & wp_postmeta DB tables; etc. Such method is much better at very many aspects.
But I have 1 question – if I will upload images directly to folders without [WP Media Gallery] – who will make a smaller version of images like “thumbnail/medium/large”? CDN will make it automatically by itself? Or how to resolve this problem automatically?
