How is the DAY countdown timer started?

Hello. What number does the DAY countdown start from, is there any way to increase the ratio in the circle?

For example, if there are 15 days left, it only shows a tiny sliver of counter left – what dictates this ratio? Is it always starting from 365?

Can we change it, so for example if the number of days total is 30 starting, then 15 days left should show roughly 50% of the circle?

Am I making sense? Is this controllable or customizable at all?
