    Hi,

we are using the free plugin to have a good overview of commissions for our artists.
They dont setup product themselves, we are just giving a place printing their images and they get a commission, but i think the commission is calculated wrong.
The thing is, we want to give them 10%.
Because our margin is very different in the image sizes we say we keep 95%, that shall fit good for us.
Lets say i have a product 85€, our margin is 42.50, so 50%.
Of this we want to give the artist 10%, so 4.50€.
Since we cant say “we make 50% margin on every product” because its really different each time, we will just give 5% for all, we have also set the setting to 95%.

now i have an order which is 46.50 net.
5% of this would be 2,33€, what would be around the 10% of the margin.
    But the script calculates -0.01€.
can you explain that and maybe also tell me the formula how your script calculates the earning?
Maybe i need a better understanding to setup a correct percentage of the earnings.

    Cheers
    Chris

    Hello @fishheadcode,

I’m sorry, but I’m having a bit of difficulty fully grasping your query. Could you please clarify your questions a bit more, so I can better understand what you’re trying to achieve?

Based on my current understanding, I’d like to share the following information. You can configure 4 types of commission in the marketplace powered by the Dokan plugin. Some of them come with the Pro version of the Dokan plugin. We are unauthorized to assist you with any pro feature in this forum according to the guidelines. We offer detailed documentation on commission configuration. Please explore the documentation here.

    Thanks!

How shall i give more details than i already wrote? We use the free plugin, thats why i am writing here.

We want to give: 5% commission
Setup in backend: 95% stays on admin side
    Product price brutto: 55€
    Product price net: 46.50€
    Awaited commission: 2.33€
Commission actually calculated by your script: -0.01

Why is it -0.01 and not 2.33€?

My only question is: HOW does your script calculates with the end result of -0.01 so i can set it up correctly.
From my perspective your calculation is horribly wrong in this case.
I know we “misuse” it because we are not a marketplace but want to use it for commissions of our artists, but anyway it shall work with 95:5 percent.

    Hi @fishheadcode

To clarify, Dokan calculates the admin commission based on the product’s net (base) price rather than the gross price. In this case, with a net product price of 46.50€, if you set the admin commission to 95%, Dokan will calculate the vendor’s commission as 5% of 46.50€, which comes out to 2.33€—matching the expected calculation.

If you’re seeing a different result, such as -0.01€, it may be due to rounding or currency format settings. I recommend reviewing your currency and decimal settings in WooCommerce to ensure accurate calculations.

    Thanks!

    Sorry, forgot to answer.

The thing is: When there are rounding errors because of different currencies, please test this. Not every store has dollars. This then is a plugin bug and shall not be the users problem, but yours which needs to be fixed. I mean i was using free. Imagine someone buys it, is this the same answer then? That would be awful.

Anyway i now use a different, own, solution for that. But you shall anyway test this on a site with euros as example.

Its then not this “$ 1.23” but “1,23 €”. I think its the formating (comma and where the currency is placed) which causes it then. Also there are settings for this directly in wordpress and functions in wordpress and also functions to get the raw unformatted value, which you anyway shall use. So this should not be a problem at all
