    Hello,
i installed the plugin to find out how users register on my blog. I’ve been struggling with a lot of spam registrations lately. Unfortunately, the Activity Log does not record these registrations even though I have “Geek Mode” enabled. How can these users register without the Activity Log recording it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thank you for using our plugin Spontis.

When you installed the plugin, did you enable the option to monitor user registrations in the wizard?

If not and / or you are not sure, please do the following:

    1. Navigate to the Enable/disable events in the plugin
    2. Find event ID 4000
    3. Enable the option: Keep a log when a visitor registers a user on the website. Only enable this if you allow visitors to register as users on your website. User registration is disabled by default in WordPress.

Can you please confirm if the above helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

The settings you suggested I had applied all, therefore am so puzzled. At the moment I get about 2 bot registrations per hour, although I have secured the form accordingly, so I had used your tool. For the last 29 registrations, the anlayse tool didn’t even show anything, even though the users were created in the backend. I am at a loss.

    Hello Spontis,

How is the registration process for the user? As in what plugins do you use for the registration form and the registration process? Or is it the default WordPress user registration system?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yes, the registration is handled by the Buddypress plugin. However, it seems that the https://www.spontis.de/mitglieder/buddypress-registrierung form is not used at all, because fields that I have marked as mandatory are not filled in.

We will run some tests from our end in regards to Buddypress support and we’ll get back to you.

However, since you have mentioned that you think the Buddypress form is not used – are you aware of any other registration forms / options on your website? Is the default WordPress registration functionality disabled? You can check this from the WordPress settings.

    Thank you for your commitment!

As far as I can see, there are no other forms to register. The “wp-login.php?action=register” also ends at the Buddypress form.

When I turn off the default registration, the registration via Buddypress also stops working. At the moment, however, silence has also returned. However, I have not changed anything.

By the way, “Activity Log” does not register regular registrations either. I have tested this and created a new user.
