How integrated is Limit Attempts with HTACCESS plugin?

    Hi,

    I thought when Limit Attempts had a setting to use HTACCESS plugin, that it would automatically add blacklisted IP addresses to the HTACCESS plugin Deny block, and then update the .htaccess file. Unfortunately that’s not the case, I see.

    Will this be a feature be offered later in development? I think it would be an excellent addition.

    Dear Tony,

    When using Limit Attempts plugin together with Htaccess plugin, IP addresses from Limit Attempts blacklist will be automatically added and displayed in Htaccess Deny block provided that the box ‘Htaccess plugin’ is checked on Limit Attempts plugin settings page.

    Alternately, if this is exactly what you need, but you have some problems with the given functionality, please send us the screenshots of both plugins’ settings pages and the screenshot of your blacklist. To solve this problem as soon as possible, please contact us at support.bestwebsoft.com.

    Thanks for the info. I see that some IP addresses are automatically added, and others just aren’t. I was able to decrease the number of bad logins (and brute force attempts) by changing my login url to something different from wp-admin. I will keep tracking to see if the plugin continues to add IP addresses.
