    HI

I’m new to your plugin. I’ve downloaded and installed your plugin. And clicked on “BACKUP NOW”

Does that automatically then backup Database separately, plugins separately, ALL wordpress directories separately etc?

I’ve done one backup already and see that it has different buttons for Database, Plugins, Themes, Uploads

Where do I find and download ALL the files for whole website in one go?

    What is the Others button?

I’m used to another backup software, so not sure WHERE to find this feature that I need a FULL backup with everything in the 1 backup including Plugins, themes, database, all wordpress files in public_html, so I can do a restore for a client.

Is there RESTORE easy to do with your plugin ?

Are there limitations to the free plugin in backing up and restoring please?

    Thanks

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus by default backups the database all the components necessary to restore your site. It separately backups each component (database, themes, plugins, uploads and others). This allows you to restore a component when needed instead of restoring the entire site when the need occurs.

Our step by step restoration process is here – https://updraftplus.com/faqs/restore-site-updraftplus/

Can I ask when I view my client site, it ONLY ever shows 2 backups in there?

Can your software do automatic backups?

I can ONLy see the OLD backups and never any NEW backups and I’m not sure why.

2 clients I can ONLy see 2 old files sitting there and NO other backups which is very frustrating.

    Thanks

Hi, I’ve found the Settings to allow AUTO Backups and increase number of backups kept.

So I’ve created a NEW Backup for these 2 clients. I’m now getting this error for BOTH those clients:

Resource Limit Is Reached The website is temporarily unable to service your request as it exceeded resource limit. Please try again later.

Website cannot be viewed whilst backup in progress for BOTH SITES ??

Cannot access backend now whilst says 508 Resource error.

How can I bypass this, as the website is NOW NOT viewing as it says this error.

Client is CRANKY at moment, as they have someone trying to place an order and I Don’t know HOW to stop the backup for now … OR how to have a full backup working WITHOUT taking the website down with 503 or 508 errors Resource Limit.

Please advise ASAP when you get a moment.

BOTH clients sites have ample space on the hosting server no issues there.

The error disappeared after a while and a backup completed yesterday.

So therefore I will try and RESTORE these backups to a TEST SERVER so I can understand the fully functionality of HOW your restores work and whether it is straight forward to restore to or not.

One question, as I’m used to backupbuddy, and I’m exploring your plugin for backups and restores now.

Firstly, when I click on the Plugins, it has 5 files of plugins that I need to download. (plugins1, plugins2, plugins3, plugins4, plugins5). Why doesn’t it backup the plugins in 1 file?

Next is THEMES – has 2 files to download (themes1, themes2) – Why not only 1 file?

Uploads directory has 17 zip files. 17 individual files that need to be uploaded and saved locally..

This will be a mess when trying to restore things I would say ?

Not such a simple backups to RESTORE for a client site?

Am I missing something or misinterpreting something please?

Am I doing something wrong ? Or is there another setting so the files are downloaded in a compact zip file for all plugins, for all themes, for all wp-content files etc ?

    Thanks

    Sorry I have another question.

If I have the settings set to Full backups once a week and daily database backups, and I have set to Email location also.

WHY doesn’t it show the backups in the backups area listed there as done?

It sends an email to the client owner, but DOESN’T store the backup on the website in the Backup/Restore Updraft screen in WordPress?

I’m confused with WHY I cannot see the backups there from AUTO Backups.

ONLY the manual backups I do once in a while I see there, but haven’t seen backups there for months for some reason.

Could you please advise further on this also please.

    Thanks
