How does WordPress get a commenters IP address

    Where in the files does that information come from? I am not asking how to call an ip address, i don’t think. I am trying to resolve an issue where comments sent to my slave server all register with the same ip, but those on the master identify correctly. Has anyone else seen this problem before.
