How does this work with NextGen?

I think this plug in gets me closer to what I’m looking for. My client wants a vertical carousel next to the large image (ideally with social sharing buttons above the carousel). I’m not a .php coder, so I’m not clear how to customize my set up to make this happen.
Can anyone offer some assistance? I’d even be willing to pay.
