How does the "WordPress Cronjob" work?

    I have configured wpematico to run regularly everyday. But it does not run.

    I have it installed on a shared hosting provider webpace.

    You write “you can make the RSS fetching process be called by a Unix cron job, or simply let WordPress handle it.”

    How can I “let WordPress handle” the cronjob thing? I mean: how can wordpress (without a linux cronjob trigger?) regularly fetch my rss feeds? What do I need to set up for that?
